Them and Us

How do you refer to the church that you attend?

Do you refer to it with the personal pronouns we, us, our? Or as they, them, their?

It’s an important distinction.  The former way denotes a feeling of belonging and ownership.  Whereas the latter sounds like you’re just a visitor passing through, a consumer rather than a member.

Get involved and encourage your pastor by belonging.

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No-one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.
Acts 4:32, NIV

One Response to Them and Us

  1. Hitchmo says:

“Maybe there’s no ‘them’ and ‘us’, maybe there’s just us.”
